As Founder, CEO & President of ManageCamp Inc., Len Herstein provides the strategic vision behind the annual Brand ManageCamp marketing conferences, leads the planning on clients’ custom events, and is the day-to-day contact and project leader for ManageCamp’s brand consulting projects.
Len founded ManageCamp in 2003 as an answer to his disillusionment with the conference industry. After many episodes of whining and crying about wasted time at bad conferences, Len’s wife Katy suggested (demanded) that he do something about it, and so he did.
Since 2015, Len has served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado. In this volunteer position, Len works on the Patrol team as a State-certified peace officer and puts in up to 850 hours a year – for free. Len’s main driving forces for doing this are making positive contributions to safety and well-being of the citizens of Douglas County and being part of the solution of improving relations between police and the public. In doing so, Len has learned valuable lessons that apply directly back to business life. These lessons are the basis for his book, Be Vigilant! Strategies to Stop Complacency, Improve Performance, and Safeguard Success. Your Business and Life Depend on It.
Prior to founding ManageCamp, Len spent many years innovating, managing, and growing brands for major consumer packaged goods marketers (Campbell Soup Company, Coca-Cola, Nabisco). Prior to that, Len honed his consulting skills while working for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).
