Creativity: Now…For Everyone!

Hi,

Have you ever been told to leave the creativity to the creatives?  That you should stay focused on the strategy and leave the creative work to the wacky ad/design/fashionista crowd? This line of thinking supposes that people are either born creative or not.  That creativity is an innate skill and if you don’t have it you are just going to get in the way.

Now, we’ve been saying this for years at Brand ManageCamp, but here we go again:  NONSENSE!  In the past couple of years, speakers like Josh Linkner and Todd Henry have preached to us about how we can all be creative – we just have to work at it.  Creativity CAN be nurtured.  And it’s a good thing, too – because in today’s environment we need all the creativity we can get.

I like the message of the above cartoon – our first in our new series, featuring our very own BrandCat!  Creativity no longer belongs solely to the creatives.  It is the responsibility of us all.  But, just like anything else…we have to work at it.

That is why I am so excited that Juno Award Winning Musician and Creativity Expert David Usher will be kicking off day 2 of Brand ManageCamp this year.  David is a creative tour de force.  As the front man of the internationally acclaimed rock band Moist, and as a solo artist, he has sold more than 1.4 million albums, won countless awards, and performed at sold-out venues around the world.  At Brand ManageCamp, he is going to take the stage with his lead guitarist and show us why he believes that creativity is a learnable skill that anyone can master.  Part lecture, part concert, and 100% fun, this is something you will not want to miss!

So…don’t!  See David Usher and 12 other amazing speakers at Brand ManageCamp 2014, Sept 18-19 in Las Vegas.  We are once again running our “Stay for Free at BMC” promotion. If you are among the first 100 people toregister before May 10th, you will take advantage of our lowest pricing ($500 off full conference price) AND we will pay for up to two nights of your stay at the MGM Grand! (see website for details).

If you like the image above, please pass it along!  Also, I hope you’ll consider liking it on Facebook.  You can also follow us on Twitter and join our group on LinkedIn.

I hope we get to see you in Las Vegas!
